Occupational Info

1994-1996	Supported a series of legacy accounting applications written in CBasic. Responsible for installation, maintenance, service and support for these applications and their special requirements including dumb terminals, DR DOS, PC/M etc.

1995-1998	Started as telephone support at the first indepedent ISP in Barbados working for Internet Access. Later on was hired full time, and started making support visits for anything from internet connectivity software to general PC hardware maintenance/consultation while continuing both telephone and email support. Also became jointly responsible for the ISP's various server hardware and software running WinNT 3.5, 4.0 and Slackware Linux involving applications from serial modem racks to internet services. Began doing HTML and Javascript web design and graphics work while continuing to support both internal and client hardware and software.

1998-2024	Initially started work on building an ISP from scratch, but the project was scrapped in favour of a large tourist information site for Barbados. The site was written in Cold Fusion. Primary responsibilitys included hardware/software evaluation and procurement, TCP/IP network setup and administration as well as graphics and site design. Learned Cold Fusion and iHTML and designed client sites ranging from basic HTML sites to fully dynamic shopping cart sites. The company has changed hands several times, but the same basic functions continue. Currently responsible for all technical aspects of the company, including remote server administration, web design, front and back end web programming, ongoing evaluation and installation of software, services and hardware, search engine placement, security and maintenance.
